BNVD 1431 MK2 NNVT
BNVD-1431 MK2 is a multi-purpose binocular night vision device (BNVD). It uses standard MX-10160 18mm image intensifier tube (IIT) and can work with MX-11769 tubes after minor modifications. All specifications are designed and tested to meet the requirements of the elite law enforcement and special operation units. BNVD-1431 MK2 can be mounted or handheld. Its optical pods can be easily flipped 140°side-wards to help the user adapt different light conditions. The BNVD-1431 MK2 has a unique built-in gravity sensor which enable the device to automatically turn on and off according to its posture. When the user stop using the device and flip it up above the helmet or head mount, the device will power off automatically to prevent light exposure from the eyepiece and tube damage caused by continuous exposure to light sources in the sky. When equipped with auto-gating technology, the BNVD-1431 MK2 can swiftly adjust the image brightness and protect itself from sudden flashlight, enabling the user to react or fight back without removing the device. The housing is made of special fiber-enhanced polymer with high strength, high modulus and fire resistant properties, which ensure that the device can work through all harsh conditions The BNVD-1431 MK2 can run for more than 15 hours (at general temperature) when using a normal AA battery. When connected with external battery pack, the running time can be extended to more than 50 hours (battery packs are purchased separately). The BNVD-1431 MK2 is compatible with the US military standard PVS-14 lenses (#A3256342) , which can be easily sourced in the market and government issue (GI) system. It can also work with commercial 40-degree lenses, 51-degree lenses, and ultra-light resin lenses according to customers’ demands.
Key Features
1)Power saving design. When the device stays still for a long time, it will go dormant and power off the tubes until it senses movement again and automatically power on. Indicator light in the pods can remind the user when the power in low;
2)Built-in gravity sensor. It can automatically shut down when flipped up with any helmet mount or head mount. This function does not rely on any magnetic switch or special modifications;
3)Programmable one-hand interface: All electronic functions are programmed and controlled by the chip in the center of the housing bridge. One button controls all functions and can therefore be easily operated with one hand. Automatic flip up shutdown and dormancy functions can be deactivated by pressing the button 5 times. User can turn off the gravity sensor during military free fall, diving or rappelling to prevent unwanted power cut caused by rolling postures.;
4)A red light in the pod can indicate whether the device is in low power or whether certain functions are deactivated;
5)Housing is made of special fiber-enhanced polymer with high strength, high modulus and fire resistant properties to ensure its robustness and durability. The dovetail on the device fits all Wilcox dovetail mounts in the market. Pods can be independently flipped up and down, so that user can quickly switch between single and dual eye configuration according to his/her tactical needs and improve efficiency in combats;
6)The pods are perfectly compatible with Clip-on Thermal Imager such as E-COTI and Jerry-C, so that thermal fusion functions can be added.
How to Operate
1)Flip Up Power Off When the device is installed on a helmet or head mount, it will automatically turn off after it is completely flipped up over head. When the device is flipped down, it will automatically turn on. It will only turn off when it the flipping angle is greater than the predefined threshold, therefore, raising head will not turn off the device.
2)Dormancy The gravity sensor checks its posture all the time. If the device stay still for more than 100 seconds , it will automatically go dormant to save power and protect the tube from long-time burning damage until the device is waken up by new movements.
3)Deactivation of Functions Press the power button 5 times to deactivate the above functions. The red light in the pods will flash 5 times to indicate that the functions has been deactivated. To reactivate these functions, press the switch 5 times again. If you need to temporarily deactivated the functions, press the power button 3 times. The red light in the pods will flash 3 times to indicate that the functions has been temporarily deactivated. Temporarily deactivated functions will be automatically reactivated when the device is powered on again.
4)IR flood light After powering on, press the power button twice, the red LED on the right pod will flash twice, and the red LED on the left pod will keep shining. At the same time, the IR flood light will be turned on. Press the power button twice again, the IR flood light will be turned off and the indicator light in the pods will to turned off too.
5)Manual Gain Control After correctly installing different 37mm manual gain tubes (i.e. Photonis and NNVT three-pin tubes, US MX-11769 tubes and tubes with flying wires) according to our tube installation manual, the user can rotate the power switch clockwise and anti-clockwise to manually control the intensifier’s gain features.
